Checking In…

So sorry for the long absence… and so sorry for no photo progress report.

First, though, I do want to thank you all for your kind works regarding my sweet niece. I’ve passed them on to my sister. Little Laura is hanging in there. Although, she needs to gain weight. My sister and brother-in-law took her in for another consultation with her cardiologists just yesterday so I had the opportunity to have a jolly good romp with Little Laura’s siblings. We played pirates and sang H.M.S Pinafore songs at the top of our lungs! It was just the sort of thing I needed to take my mind off of grown up worries!

I have begun the Pie Are Square Shawl. But have made one dreadful mistake – I decided to do it on size #5 needles rather than on something quick and large! Ha! My own fault. That’s okay. I’m enjoying it. I’m using a delightful purple Icelandic roving that will be stunning when it’s done.

The shawl is rather enormous now but not very long…hmmm…. feeling like a dreadful failure.

It’s been over 4 months, now, that our house has been torn up and not fully put together because of the mold situation. That, alone, has become rather burdensome now as the cold weather moves in and I have to start digging through the bins in the garage to find our warm gear. We were supposed to have our hardwood floors installed today and tomorrow… but the flooring company rescheduled it for Monday and Tuesday. Then the real work begins of putting this house back together. I can’t wait!

So how are you all going? Anyone knitting the Pie Are Square Shawl? Or have you all done it already?

happy knitting!
